GPAQ - Practice Report

About Us > Administrative Information

This relates to 2008/9. The results for 2009/10 have now been received, and a review will be added soon.

This is the fifth year the practice has completed a GPAQ report and we would like to thank patients who took the time to complete the questionnaire.

It is gratifying to note that the efforts we have put into the triage system and the extended opening hours appear to be appreciated by patients as shown by the increase in in scores for questions 3 - 8 which look at ease of access to the practice and doctors.

In other areas there has been little change in the scores since last year, with scores being broadly in line with the national average (benchmark) scores. However we are keen to improve and continue to look at how the service we provide can be enhanced.

Two key areas where we recognise improvement is needed are:

  • the ability of patients to book appointment more than a day or two ahead.
  • the ability of patients to speak to or see the Doctor of their choice.

Both of these are complicated by the triage system, which is very effective in dealing with issues in need of immediate attention, but as we have always recognised does have it's drawbacks. We still believe that it solves more problems than it creates and will continue to refine it with a view to providing a better service to all our patients.

The results have been discussed within the practice and with the Patient Forum and together we hope to go some way to resolving problems identified by patients in their responses to the questionnaire.
