Park Leys Medical Practice

I am originally from Malawi from a medical background family. I trained at Manchester Medical School where I graduated in 1975. After House jobs in the Manchester area, I worked in Sheffield before moving to Coventry where my husband was working for GEC as an Engineer.

In the early years in Coventry, I worked to Registrar level in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Women’s hospital at Walsgrave Hospital site. In 1989 I decided to change Career paths and become a GP. After completing My GP Training in Coventry, I joined Park leys practice in July 1993.

I enjoy working in general Practice. I have a Special interest in sexual and reproductive health and in Health promotion. I am the lead partner in Women’s health : family planning- including implanon and coils fitting, cervical cancer screening and Antenatal care. Health promotion involves leading on Seasonal flu vaccination campaigns. 2009 saw the launch of HPV vaccination campaign for teenage girls and also the H1N1 [Swine] flu vaccination. I also have an interest in Diabetes mellitus care.

I am married and have a grown up son. I enjoy travelling to new destinations, gardening, reading and going to the theatre.
