Flu Vaccination Campaign

We are preparing the Seasonal Flu Campaign for winter 2010/11. We will begin administering vaccine on 1st October and appointments are now available.

The flu vaccine is available free of charge to all patients on the various at risk registers, those over 65 years of age and this year, pregnant women.

The vaccine includes a component to cover H1N1 (Swine) Flu.

We will be arranging Saturday flu morning clinics. Details will be publicised when available.

First Aid advice for your MP3 player

Did you know you can now download first aid advice in mp3 format to store on your iPod (or any mp3) player? They are royalty free and have been professionally recorded so they will always be crystal clear whenever you need them.
They cover all the situations where giving the correct first aid may mean the difference between life and death. Download here.

July 2010 Text and Email Consent

The practice would like to make increasing use of new technologies to communicate with patients.

We will soon have the facility to send text messages to patients to inform them of changes in practice services or opening hours, invite them to attend for flu vaccinations or medication reviews and even issue reminders of appointments. We would also like to make increasing use of emails to keep patients informed of practice developments.

In order to do this, we need patient consent. If you would be happy to recieve text messages and/or emails from the practice, which may be of general interest to all patients or specific to you please complete a consent form, available from Reception or download a copy here. Drop it in to us next time you pass.

Information for travellers to France

French Authorities have reported an increased number of measles cases in France this year.

Parents who are planning a holiday in France and have not had their children vaccinated against measles should ensure that their children have the Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR) vaccine.

It's never too late to get the MMR vaccine for your child - it provides the best possible protection against Measles, Mumps and Rubella.

Contact the practice for advice on vaccination, or you can visit NHS Choices for more information.
