New information resource from the NHS

EQUIP – Electronic Quality Information for the Public is an NHS gateway to quality health and social care information for the West Midlands public.

EQUIP only links to websites that have been checked for the quality of their information. There are links to information resources in almost 100 languages. You can also search the directory of over 4000 national and local support groups and services which are checked regularly.

This website has been created with the involvement of medical staff and members of the public.

Swine (H1N1) Flu - C&W Anti-viral Collection Point Closed

If you think you have Swine Flu, or need advice please call 0800 151 3100 or visit the NPFS web site. A Textphone is also available on 0800 151 3200.

The Anti Viral Collection Point (ACP) at Coventry & Warwick Hospital has now closed. Patients given an authorisation code number by the National Pandemic Flu Service will need to collect their Tamiflu from one of three nominated pharmacies. These are Boots at Central Six, Stoney Stanton Pharmacy and Lloyds at Jubilee Crescent. Full details can be downloaded here. Other pharmacies are only able to issue anti-virals in exchange for a voucher issued by a GP.


Swine (H1N1) Flu Vaccinations

15th January 2010: More Saturday Clinics
We are making good progress administering the swine flu vaccines to the at risk groups and are starting to administer vaccine to children under 6 years of age.

We will be holding clinics on the following Saturday mornings:

  • 30th January
  • 6th February
  • 13th February


Vaccinations available for the following groups of patients who have not already recieved a vaccination:

  • Individuals aged 6 months to 65 years in the current seasonal flu at risk groups
  • All pregnant women
  • Household contacts of imuno-compromised individuals
  • Individuals 65 and over in the current seasonal flu at risk groups
  • Children aged 6 months to 5 years old.
  • Second vaccinations will also be available for imuno-compromised patients. (This is the only group to need a second vaccination)
